A Georgia plant tour next Wednesday.
The AIBD Georgia Society is offering a plant tour of the Owens Corning Fiberglass plant. The plant is located in Fairburn Ga. at 7000 Mclarin Rd, Fairburn, GA 30213.

The event will start at 9:00am sharp due to an hour of meeting time before the education and plant tours. Lunch will be served at 12:00 and the gather will last until 3:30 pm. There will be up to 4 CE’s earned for the day. Please be aware that you will be required to wear long sleeve shirts. long pants and closed toe shoes.

College of Fellows awards two scholarships.
AIBD Student member Andrew James Schilb has been named the recipient of the 2014 Annette Farmer Scholarship. The scholarship was founded by William Farmer, FAIBD in memory of his wife in 2008. Andrew will receive $1000 from the College of Fellows.
Andrew has been a student member with AIBD for two years and is continuing on a path to become a professional member. He recently became a certified architectural drafter with ADDA and have plans to attend Penn State University in fall of 2015 in the SDCET program.
In addition, each year the College of Fellows also awards a $1000 scholarship to the child or grandchild of an AIBD Certified Professional or Professional member. This year’s College of Fellows Scholarship is awarded to Scott Thomas Hake, son of Ohio Certified Professional member Ted Hake. Scott has worked with his father and desires to follow in his footsteps as a building designer. He is on his way to the University of Cincinnati and has completed the civil engineering and architectural programs offered at his local high school.

Corrections and retractions – AIBD dues increase.
At their meeting on July 29th, the AIBD House of Delegates voted to approve a motion to increase the Certified Professional and Professional member yearly dues by $20. For the first few hours of publishing of last week’s MondayMINUTE, it was incorrectly reported that the motion was defeated. According to the motion, the increase is to effect immediately.
