Happy Holidays from AIBD!
…Mitek to visit the national office:
Brian McCormick of Mitek Industries is scheduled to visit AIBD in Washington, DC this Wednesday. Brian will demonstrate Mitek Sapphire Viewer, a software tool provided free to the construction industry and used to review 2D and 3D structural models from component manufacturers using Mitek technology.
Brian will also be giving Executive Director, Steve Mickley, a preview of Blackpoint, another software program being developed by Mitek designed to assist designers in managing plan catalogs, option libraries and marketing & construction drawings.
While together, Steve and Brian plan to schedule a series of software demonstrations and webinars featuring both products to be available to all AIBD contacts early in 2012.
…National office holiday schedule:
If you haven’t met the AIBD national staff, Steve is AIBD’s Executive Director, Whit is AIBD’s Executive Assistant and Rebecca works remotely part-time and handles AIBD’s continuing education reporting. Starting today, Whit is enjoying a well deserved vacation and will be returning to the office on January 3, 2012. The office is officially closed Friday, December 23, and Monday, December 26. Thank you for your patience while just one staff member is available to help you this week and next. Regrettably, you may have to utilize our voice mail system more than usual, but rest assured, your questions and comments are important to us and we will return your calls and emails as soon as possible. Hopefully, the same day.
…2012 membership renewal Q&A:
When does my membership expire?
Most active memberships are valid through 12/31/2011. Any memberships that started on or after 9/1/2009 are set to expire on the last day of their anniversary month. But everyone who joined prior to that date are invited to renew by the end of December each year.
Does my membership end on the expiration date?
No, members are given 60 days to renew their membership after the expiration date before there is any interruption to their benefits. After 60 days, a membership that has not renewed is “revoked” and is then given a 120-day opportunity to reinstate. After that period has expired, a membership is then “terminated.” After termination, a designer must apply for membership using a new member application.
Do I have to pay in full?
No, members in the Professional member categories have the option of renewing quarterly or semi-annually. Using this procedure, the initial installment can be paid by check, however, all subsequent installments are auto-debited to a credit card, debit card or bank account.
Can I renew online?
Yes, all your membership information, including a renewal invoice, is available 24/7 at www.AIBDmember.org. Once logged into your account, click the “My Transactions” tab. To print the invoice, click the green check mark next to the invoice number. To pay the invoice online, click “Pay Open Invoices” and follow the instructions.
