Join us for a presentation on how Habitat for Humanity manages to incorporate sustainability, and stay affordable. Habitat is a leading certifying builder to LEED, ENERGY STAR, Indoor airPLUS, Earthcraft, System Vision, Earth Advantage and several other regional programs. Our presenter is Tiffani Irwin, who found herself on a Habitat job site 25 years ago, and has been engaged with the mission ever since. As an early member of the “Green Team,” HFHI’s earliest focus on sustainable and energy efficient construction, Tiffani was an early adopter of sustainable building practices. In her current role, Tiffani manages the efforts around best practices for sustainable new construction and work on existing homes.
When it comes to arranging furniture, the cliche of “Form follows function” rings true: Rather than choosing a living room layout visually, and trying to work around it, think about what “living” means in your home, and arrange furniture based on those activities. Style can be fit to any arrangement. Whether your priority is play space for the kids, comfort for guests, or access to the television, this handy guide from FurnishedUp shows how to arrange the most common living room furniture for maximum flow and balance.

As a board member, you bring your ideas to the table, speak up and take initiative. You work on what’s important to you, on projects that interest you, and where you can put your background and particular skills into action.
Nominations for one candidate must come from two different members – one of which can be the candidate themselves. NOMINATIONS CLOSE FRIDAY, APRIL 30, 2015.
