…California dreamin’ in 2013.
Wednesday and Thursday, AIBD Executive Director, Steve Mickley, will be touring the city of Pasadena, CA, seeking for a hotel and off-site venues to host the AIBD 2013 Annual Convention. Steve will be guided by the city’s Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.
A list of potential convention sites are created first by a survey of the membership then the House of Delegates narrows the field. When the state of California was chosen by the delegates, the Convention Site Selection Subcommittee, lead by Richard Emigh (CA), investigated about a dozen potential host cities before choosing Pasadena.
The meeting that began the United Designers Association, now known as the American Institute of Building Design, was held on July 11, 1950 in the city of Pasadena.
This year, the AIBD 2012 Annual Convention is August 5-8, 2012 in Wilmington, NC. Check out the proposed schedule and receive information as it develops at www.AIBDconvention.com.
