Thanksgiving is our annual opportunity to stuff ourselves, catch up with friends and family, throw a football around and get a jump on holiday shopping. But most of us need a little prodding to stop and literally give thanks — which, of course, is whole the point of the holiday in the first place.
On behalf of the Board of Directors and the staff at AIBD, we are thankful for everyone’s contributions and support of the Institute’s mission to enhance, develop, educate and promote the value of the residential design professional.
We wish you a healthy and happy holiday weekend. The AIBD National Office will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 22nd & 23rd.
…High performance home training.
Join EEBA Certified Trainer, Gord Cooke, on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. EDT, and review the compelling changes in codes, green building standards and consumer expectations and the added burden it adds to designers and builders. The one-hour online session advocates understanding and applying the principles of solid building science to avoid risks and find new opportunities to build ever more cost effective homes.

…Bowling at the White House
This past weekend, AIBD General Manager, Whit Peterson, rubbed elbows with the White House staff at an “invitation only” bowling party. Whit says, “Scores in the Harry S. Truman Bowling Alley are kept top secret.” And revealing this classified information is, “A matter of national security.” It is expected, however, that Whit did very well. Earlier this year he was crowned the Kellen Company DC bowling champion. (Kellen Company is the AIBD association management firm)
