Chrysalis Awards recognizes WA CPBD.
Continuing to set new standards of professionalism, 70 remodeling companies from across the United States were named winners at the 2014 Chrysalis Awards for Remodeling Excellence. The entries were judged on overall design, the creative use of space and materials, and the degree to which the project enhanced the original structure.
The entry submitted by Thomas Hagge of Hagge Design Associates, Inc. in Sammamish, WA, was a whole house remodel located on the shore of Puget Sound in West Seattle, WA., with sweeping views of Puget Sound, Mount Rainier and the Olympic Mountains. The Narrow, 22 foot wide, three story residence, won in the Whole House Remodel $500,000 – $1,000,000 category. “This was the first year Hagge Design Associates has entered the awards, and to take home top honors on the first attempt is impressive,” says Ken Kanline, Director of the Awards.
The finished home includes main floor living and dining, a spacious master suite, 2 additional bedrooms, a home office, cantilevered decks at all levels, 2 private courtyards, an elevator that serves the main residence and an attached accessory dwelling unit with a roof top deck.
The Chrysalis Awards program, begun in 1994, recognizes the nation’s best work in sixteen general categories of residential and commercial remodeling. The Chrysalis Awards are open to any professional remodeler and design professional in the United States.

A city is defined by its neighborhoods and these are some of our finest. German Village, circa 1830, was developed as the brewing companies and packing houses grew. Old Towne East, circa 1880, was one of the very first suburban areas in Columbus. Many of the homes were build by the city’s most affluent citizens at the time.
