Gabriel Orengo, AIBD, CPBD (Bonita Springs, FL) is proud to have one of his custom homes (Villa Bello Lago) on the cover and section pages of the Residential Design, Drafting, and Detailing, Second Edition by Alan Jefferis and Janice A. Jefferis. The text book is used for training students pursuing a career in residential architecture. The new book also has several of his homes published as examples of the residential architecture on Figure 7.6 (pg. 187) and Figure. 7.39 (pg. 199). The home was one of the last projects Gabriel had the privilege of working on with the founder of Palladian Design Group and friend Eric S. Brown. Together they designed this custom luxury home which won a Grand Aurora Award in 2009 (Southern Eastern Building Conference). The home was built by Harwick Homes
The AIBD has many dedicated members working behind the scenes to grow membership or market the Institute. Others are improving the residential design discipline through education or awareness. The AIBD leadership needs your help finding those persons who are furthering our profession.
