…Remembering the ones who serve, are serving, didn’t come home and why
Veterans have a unique perspective on Memorial Day. They remember those who didn’t come home, the reasons they went to war, the friends who survived and the ones still serving.
To commemorate this Memorial Day, veterans participating in the year-long AmericanHomecomings project by Digital First Media newspapers (http://www.AmericanHomecomings.com) share who or what will occupy their thoughts today. They talk about sacrifice and duty and family.
As Jen Carver, who entered the Army after 9/11 puts it, “That’s what Memorial Day is all about, remembering them and celebrating them and their lives and the things they did in honor of their country.”
